Mosquito Nets: Shield Against Insects and Guardian of Comfort

A mosquito net is an essential accessory for PVC windows that protects against insects, dust, and allergens. However, not all nets are the same: the choice depends on the type of window, budget, and your specific needs. Let’s explore the main options.

Frame nets are the most popular type. They consist of a plastic or aluminum frame with a stretched mesh. They come in two varieties:

  • external (mounted on Z‑shaped brackets from the outside);
  • internal (secured with hooks or plungers from the room side).

Pros: versatility, easy installation, affordable price.

Roller (roll‑up) nets roll up into a cassette, similar to a roller blind. They are suitable for large windows and balcony doors. Pros: convenient to use, dust protection. Cons: high cost and the need for professional installation.

Sliding nets move along guides to the side. They are optimal for sliding windows and doors. Pros: durability, convenience. Cons: require precise installation.

Nets with Velcro/magnets are a budget option for non‑standard windows. Pros: easy to install, portable. Cons: short lifespan, weak fixation.

It’s also important to choose the type of mesh:

  • standard (1,2×1,2 mm) — protects against large insects;
  • «anti‑dust» (0,9×0,9 mm) — traps dust and small midges;
  • «anti‑pollen» (0,9×0,5 mm) — for allergy sufferers;
  • «anti‑cat» (thread up to 0,8 mm) — resistant to pet claws;
  • sun‑protective — reflects up to 90 % of light.

When choosing, consider the type of window, level of protection, and budget. A well‑selected net will become a reliable barrier against external irritants and maintain comfort in your home.
